A few months ago I spent two days at the Lake Prags in South Tyrol. I had already seen a lot of photos and I wanted to see the turquoise water live and by myself. The Italian name is “Lago di Braies”, behind it you can see the imposing massif of the Seekofel (2810 m). The Lake Prags is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage “Dolomites” and one of the most famous lakes in South Tyrol. You can walk around it or rent a rowing boat. As you can see in the photos, we did a small picnic on the water 🙂 and it was a lot of fun. The sun burns quite down there, so you should not necessarily visit the lake when it is totally hot.
Directly at the lake there is only one hotel, the “Hotel Lake Prags“. Most of the rooms in the hotel have the furniture from the construction period, so it seems a bit “old-fashioned”. You should definitely book the highest category, as most of the rooms are very small. You will have a wonderful view to the lake on your balcony, it´s so impressive. The water is crystal clear and has such a great color. I can definitely recommend to go there for a trip.
