If you are looking for a nice hotel in Ubud, Bali you should take a look at Komaneka at Bisma. This hotel is owned by locals and is very Balinesian. When you arrive, a handwritten letter is waiting for you in your room, which I think is super lovely. Each night you receive a “bedtime story” printed out and placed on the bed. Then they put hotel slippers close to the bed at night and remove them they next day and so on…They really try to be supernice to the guests. As the hotel is very Balinesian, the English language from the service staff is not the best. This gets kind of frustrating after a few days, but this was the only “bad” thing during this vacation here.

The best thing about the hotel is definitely the hotel pool, which is 33m/108 feet long. In the hotel there weren´t many guests so it was so quiet and relaxing at the pool. The hotel has a shuttle bus, and it´s not far from the city center of Ubud. Also they offer mountain bikes to go on a trip by yourself through the ricefields, which was a lot of fun. In my idea we wanted to ride like Julia Roberts in “Eat, Pray, Love” 😉 In real life, it wasn´t that smooth, we went to Tengalanlan Rice fields wich are uphill. It was damn hot and we got nearly sunburned. So we bought these “funny” Asian conical hats on our way, which spent a lot of shadow.

Every morning they asked for our names at the breakfast and wrote it down in our Cappuccino, so cute! Komaneka at Bisma is a really good choice.

      Hi Sassi,

yes, this is true, Ubud is not on the sea unfortunately 🙁
But we were in Ubud at first for one week and then headed to Seminyak and stayed in “The Seminyak” for another week. I will do another blog post about that hotel soon, it´s also quite awesome!
